Christmas Pagan Origins Why Do Some People Get So Offended When They Hear That Christmas Has Pagan Origins/traditions?

Why do some people get so offended when they hear that Christmas has pagan origins/traditions? - christmas pagan origins

Someone told me: "I'm sorry for the people who can not understand the true meaning of Christmas. If you know what you really think about Christmas, you know that not all heathens.

That is simply no sense to me. No one is saying this is bad * have * At Christmas, pagan roots, which is somewhat neutral. Only "bad" if you think that paganism / pagans are evil. I do not understand why some people will try to deny the origins of the festival, when it publicly known. Not to say that Christianity has contributed to the winter holidays at all, but it is a holiday, far older than Christianity. It was a story that has nothing to do with Christianity. Why do many people from this shock? Born Apparently there were no evergreen trees in the Middle East during the time Jesus was.

ok, not all Christians do something ... long to know, probably most Christians that Jesus was born in the autumn after the harvest (when the Roman census events) and choose a date to solistace winter was one way is to celebrate the pagans. That does not mean to offend the majority of Christians --- most of us already know. The majority do not feel attacked by us through honest discussions about historical facts.

that year was very clever when you think about it,

I (the basic Christian idea of going to the crimbo use for this)
If you think about it now, even non-Christians celebrate Christmas in some way the idea, the birthday of the Savior of the human sciences "that we run around a funny fat man in a suit to distribute parts of the world's toys.

What's on TV every year? the same kind of programs that show whimsical big bearded man in a red dress were generally maintained, against the laws of physics in the fireplace, or perhaps in the window as a kind of "anti - thief" that everyone likes.

People tend to offend offended by the mere fact, a sort of arguments, the truth for the sake of discussion.

Some people have the idea that Christianity as the Bible fell from the sky and on the heads of people with convictions disadvantages. In reality, Christianity is a historical religion, that is to say that the result of an environment and a different historical context. Its present form is derived from how people in their own time and space to interact with both their natural and cultural environment. When Christianity was still young, had been threatened with a broad, more advanced life, to extend the fans of the young church. This is true even when the Roman Emperor was protection for the first Christian church left to themselves. This explains why, as the celebration of Christmas, the early Christian church learned a pagan festival to this goal, it was not difficult to trace names, because Christianity has always taught that his teachings to meet other human traditions. Even the Book of Genesis uses the pagan myths, improve the truths of monotheism. It is northIng ashamed.

Probably because Christians believe that they are the only true faith and that other religions are all derived from the devil.
Not bad as the original meaning of Christmas was the winter solstice and the Christian right for the room to themselves. In the same way that annoys me when all the Gentiles raged on Christianity "hi-jacking" SUS holiday. The pure nonsence.
All religions have borrowed from one another, to a certain degree. The biblical flood story, for example, has ancient roots in the Epic of Gilgamesh.
The roots of Christianity came from Judaism, Islam itself. Why do they hate these three religions, and others continue to deny their common origin, and even believes that some practices over me.

Yes, I can understand why a person a little through the mockery of love, something that shocked them.

For those of you who read to remind you that Christmas is a pagan festival is connected, such as.

To recognize the Christmas tradition, the birth of Jesus (Christ) Jew. While many Christians are the arguments of researchers, while what has happened in reality, is the joy of Christmas to know that the Savior has been born affected. The prophets of the Old Testament Fortold the coming of the Son of God, a savior. If you believe in Jesus, then they also believe that sins can be forgiven.

Although there were likely to offer many different festivals in the winter the Roman emperors on their devotion to Christ and to celebrate a different way to greater acceptance. As a Roman emperor and the Catholic, was invited by the people, even more flavorful to recognize the birth of Christ, the power because he had to do so.

Must have been a good idea, because it has worked. And it works even today. This idea works on any day.

Hanukkah is also celebrated this time of year, Kwanzaa, the Hajj. Are they also based on pagan festivals? There is nothing sacred?

There are festivals throughout the calendar year to recognize the saints of the church. There are probably pagans toes to be stepped up in one of those days. Sorry!

For those of you who say that Christians want to believe in a lie, I say what is wrong? Does it hurt that Christians believe in the forgiveness? Have you hurt anyone to share this joy with you? If a person Jesus' birth or the date of the event in a calendar year?

If you do not believe, why make the effort?

The simple fact is that Christians celebrate the revelation of God on earth. For those who want to discuss at the moment to hold on. For those who think breaking the beliefs of others and what is needed, remember that Christmas is celebrated by a Catholic and Christ in the Mass to 365 days per year in the Church with the love of God.

I am Heath. I believe that many Christians want their religion out of nothing, since they depend die no relations with the Egyptian god Osiris, and to increase or Northern Europe, Odin to a tree for humanity or the victim of the Prometheus of mankind, or something. You want everything done with it. But I think it's good that Christianity has pagan roots. You need their history. Ostara Easter. Christmas, Christmas. Saints --- Well, I really need not be told that you're not as ancestor worship you?

I do not know why they're shocked, right? That is the truth. Why is a religion, not that their old roots?

Did you know that not too long ago was a prophecy of a man who Bron and bring light and would be a savior and the man died on the cross for humanity?
What do you think I am?
This man has lived for over 100 years BC
So what happens if history repeats itself? It must be PROWD.
